I live on Capitol Hill and work in the Washington, DC area with a focus on Capitol Hill.
I've done projects big and small from working with
the architect and providing the design services for
the entire house to picking out a wallpaper for a bathroom
to room arrangements. Budgets have ranged from enormous
to "challenging". Time frames range from "it
has to be done next month" to working with the
client sporadically for years. I have had clients where
I've provided design services for a newborn child's
room, redecorated it several times as they grew up,
and that child is now married and I'm working with her
and her husband. That's my favorite type of working
relationship: long term. I am an expert at Paint Selection and charge a nominal fee for just that service.
The bottom line is that I'm flexible. I'm here to provide
design services and products to you to make your life
easier, more comfortable, and to help you find whatever
you're seeking.
As an Interior Designer I can provide you with a full
range of design services and products including furniture,
carpet, wallpaper, window treatments, room arrangements,
custom picture framing, accessories,
etc. As a member of the American Society of Interior
Designers (ASID), the Washington Design Center, and Furniture and Design Markets throughout
the United States, I have access to many resources.
My design studio is available by appointment and contains
wallpaper books, fabric samples, furniture catalogs,
window treatments, art work, custom framing services,
etc.
I have been a continuously practicing professional
Interior Designer for over twenty-five years with clients
and work in eight different states. I do both commercial
and residential design, although I particularly enjoy
the one-on-one relationships with my residential clients.
Some of my past commercial work has included condo lobbies
and public areas, law offices and dentist offices, oil
executive offices, etc.
Styles have ranged from Traditional to Neoclassic to
Contemporary to Eclectic. I feel I excel at taking a
client's existing furniture, artwork and accessories
and incorporating them with new pieces into a smart
new look.
My design philosophy is to LISTEN to my client's wants
and needs and bring back to them good design options
for their selection. My design goal is to be able to
work with a client and have an enjoyable working relationship
and good results for my clients. Customer satisfaction
means they like what we've done five to ten years later.
I deal with many clients on a continual basis for years.
Most of my work is through repeat business and word
of mouth. My resources and expertise are considerable
and I love to share it with my clients to create a comfortable
and satisfying environment for their busy lives.
HOW DO WE START?
Once you contact me, we'll discuss by phone or e-mail
the generalities of your project. Then I'll come to
your location for an INITIAL CONSULTATION to determine
what your project entails. At that time we'll also discuss
fee structures. There are many different fee options
and we will then discuss these and we would decide which
is most appropriate to the situation. If you want only
a consultation where you won't be purchasing any products
or further services from me (i.e., you want my ideas
and input), the fee starts at $95. If it's a more full
scale project where you'll be needing room arrangements,
design plans, color schemes, etc., the design fee will be discussed
candidly and openly and we will agree on an amount.
If you have any additional questions about my Interior
Design services or fees, call me at (202) 544-2521 or
e-mail me with no obligation
and I'll address your questions.
